Our Story

About CommonGround

CommonGround started with a simple observation: the people closest to a neighborhood's problems are usually the ones with the best ideas for solving them. They just rarely have a place to find each other, pool resources, or turn a kitchen-table plan into something real. We built this platform to close that gap.

Today, CommonGround connects local founders, community organizers, and neighbors who want to help. Founders list projects that need funding, volunteers, or expertise. Neighbors discover initiatives happening blocks from their door. Mentors share hard-won lessons through our learning library. None of this works without trust, so every project on the platform is tied to a real person and a real place.

Rooted Locally

Every project, event, and discussion is anchored to a specific community, not a faceless feed.

Built on Trust

Verified founders, transparent funding rounds, and a moderation team that keeps the community accountable.

Open to Everyone

Whether you're launching a project, mentoring a founder, or just curious what's happening nearby, there's a way in.

Where We're Headed

We're a small team that grew out of organizing neighborhood mutual-aid efforts. As CommonGround grows, our priorities stay the same: keep the platform useful for the people doing the actual work in their communities, keep funding decisions transparent, and keep adding tools that make it easier to go from idea to impact.
